Director of IT

A manufacturing company in the Philadelphia suburbs is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Information Technology (IT) Applications with proven expertise in QAD ERP systems.

This role will oversee the planning, implementation, and management of software applications to ensure they align with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, highly collaborative, and adept at leveraging QAD to optimize operational efficiency, support business growth, and drive digital transformation. It is expected that the person filling this role is ambitious and operates with a high sense of urgency. This position will report to the VP of IT.

​This position will be hybrid, working from corporate headquarters Monday through Wednesday, and remotely Thursday and Friday.

Key Responsibilities:
● Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for QAD and related applications, aligning with the overall IT strategy and business objectives.
● Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
● Project and People Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of QAD-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
● System Management: Ensure the optimal performance, security, and reliability of QAD applications, including regular updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
● Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective QAD solutions.
● Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to continuously improve QAD applications and related business processes, leveraging best practices and emerging technologies.
● Vendor Management: Manage relationships with QAD vendors and service providers, ensuring effective support and service delivery.
● Compliance: Ensure QAD applications comply with relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies.
● Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the status of QAD applications and related projects.

Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
● Experience: 7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with at least 3 years of direct experience managing QAD ERP systems in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Skills:
● Proven success in leading ERP implementations, upgrades, and integrations — particularly within QAD environments.
● Experience leading teams in fast-paced, growth-oriented businesses with an employee-centric management approach.
● Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
● Strategic thinker with hands-on problem-solving ability.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with QAD Adaptive ERP and related modules.
● Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
● ITIL, PMP, or similar certification.
● Experience with data analytics, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms.
● ​Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives

● Worked on EB2.1 – all service packs
● Programmed CIM loads for many different QAD input screens.
